How to plan for 2024 there are only 52 days left until the new year, so it’s never too early to start thinking about next year and what you want to achieve – but don’t put too much pressure on yourself, and if you want to relax and unwind, you know what’s best to look after yourself.
I’ve been thinking about what I need to do to start my small business journey in 2024, and here’s what I plan to do.
How To Plan For 2024?
1-Review The Last Twelve Months
I can’t believe it’s already been a year! It’s hard to keep track of time when you’re always busy. Take some time to reflect and review the last 12 months.
Write down everything in your 2024 planner that’s happened, both what you have accomplished and what you haven’t. It will help you to understand where you are and what you need to work on in the coming year.
2-Perform a SWOT Analysis
You can use SWOT analysis to evaluate your opportunities, threats, and weaknesses. SWOT is an abbreviation for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
I’m going to complete a SWOT analysis for the year ahead. This means looking at my Strengths, Weaknesses, Threats, and Opportunities- what have I been good at in 2024 that I will take with me, what have I been not so good at, that I can be aware of and change, etc
3-Create a Plan With SMART Goals
Setting SMART goals is crucial when it comes to goal setting.
SMART is a term that stands for specified, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Developing a plan with SMART goals will assist you in achieving your overall goals.
You can improve your chances of achievement by breaking down your goals into specific, doable actions. Setting deadlines for each objective can help you stay accountable and on track.
Your reflection and SWOT analysis will help you to plan your goals for 2024.
4-Read Listen And Focus
You must recognize that knowledge is power, so aim to read more books, listen to more podcasts, and watch more YouTube videos to enhance your financial literacy, which will keep you focused. I firmly think that you are never too old to learn and that education is the key to progress.
5-Do Not Compare To Others
An old proverb states that “Comparison is the thief of joy.” And it’s true! Constantly comparing ourselves to others can steal our happiness and leave us feeling inferior. I understand it is easier said than done but stop comparing yourself to others. The social media community is fantastic but seeing so many diverse lives and accomplishments may make you feel like you are falling behind.
Everyone’s journey is different to them, and there are so many factors that you can’t possibly walk the same path. Use others as inspiration, but remember that it is your year and goal!
6-Reward, Relax, and Recharge
Relaxing with a favorite activity can help to recharge your batteries. Whether taking a hot bath, reading a good book, or watching your favorite movie, taking some time for yourself can help you feel refreshed and ready to tackle whatever comes your way.
Repeat After Me
Finally, I am going to celebrate the small wins as well as the big and I’m going to make it my mission to set time to relax and recharge to avoid burnout. I’m not going to deprive myself of the things I love and, hopefully, create some balance in 2024.

You might find it strange to set objectives, but with a great strategy in place, achieving them can be simple. Breaking down your goals into actionable steps and working on them is the first step to accomplishing them.
