10 Things To Do When You Feel Like Giving Up

Feeling like giving up? It sometimes happens to all of us when the situation surrounding us appears to be quite overwhelming, thus making us feel like giving up. Surprisingly, even the celebrities and sports superstars may find themselves in the same kind of situations.

But giving up doesn’t get you anywhere, and it doesn’t fix your problems. There are times in our lives when we feel stuck, and there’s no way out. Bad times don’t last forever, so learning to be more positive can help you get through them.

When You Feel Like Giving Up

Here are 10 tips to help you push through and become an inspiration in your own life and the lives of others around you.

1-Take Small Steps

Sometimes it happens that even a small action results in a huge difference. There may be an urge to avoid or delay tackling a massive goal when you are about to take on it. You just need to remember to breathe.
Now, you should move ahead step by step and complete the major task by taking small actions every day.

Keep moving forward and don’t let it control you. It’s important to be proud of every milestone you get, and every accomplishment you get should inspire you to do more.

2-Remember Why You Started

In life, when quitting seems imminent, let your mind remind you why you started in the first place. It doesn’t matter if it’s an interview or a loss in a football game; never lose that sense of what made you work so hard in the first place and why you do what you do.

If something is bringing you down and you are considering giving up, take a step back and ask yourself what matters. By doing so, you will be able to put things into perspective and take your mind off whatever is bothering you.

3-Surround yourself with positive people

Working alone is tough. It’s often lonely, and sometimes we feel stuck without anyone to turn to for help. That’s why surrounding yourself with positive people is so important. Positive people are those who give off positive energy, lift you, and truly want what’s best for you. They help you grow, and they push you to be your best version.

4-Write Down Your Goals

Over time, your goals and motivations may change. Right now, write down what motivates you. It could be a sense of accomplishment, it could be putting food on your table, or it could be anything else that inspires you and drives you.

When times get tough, and all seems lost (which they will), read these notes and think about why you wanted to achieve these goals in the first place. Maybe you’ll discover something about yourself that motivates you even more.

5-Exercise Helps

During times like these, when we feel like quitting, it is even more important to take care of ourselves, as in times like these, we often neglect ourselves. Physical exercise releases endorphins, which boost feelings of happiness, and it has also been demonstrated to boost one’s productivity when one has an attention deficit disorder. To reach a higher degree of efficiency (and take a rest from work), take physical exercise breaks throughout the day.

For example, you should get up every 20 minutes or so and walk around for five minutes. Even if it means taking a walk around your office building or cubicle farm.

6) Practice Gratitude

During rough patches, it’s helpful to stop and think about what we are grateful for in our lives. Whether it’s your friends, family, or even your career, staying grateful can help us keep things in perspective. The attitude of gratitude can improve our outlook on life, making us more satisfied with what we’ve got instead of focusing on what’s missing.

7) Use Affirmations

It may sound cheesy, but affirmations can be a great way to fight through feelings of self-doubt. And no, they aren’t just for women who have trouble believing in themselves. Affirmations are positive thoughts or mantras we repeat to ourselves over and over until they sink into our subconscious and we begin believing them.

A few examples might be: I am stronger and capable of manifesting my dream life I put my mind to, or I am incredibly intelligent and full of unique talents. Find phrases that relate to your goals that motivate you. Tell yourself these new mantras every day (either out loud or in your head) for 30 days straight before moving on to something else.

8) Focus on Progress, Not Perfectionism

One does not have to worry about making a mistake. Making a mistakeguides you to what you’re doing wrong.
Reach out, find new ways, solve problems, and never give up.

Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorius and fantastic mistakes.Break rules leave the world more interesting for you being here.

9)Never compare yourself to others

As much as we would like to compare ourselves to those who have achieved more, it’s worth remembering that many accomplished professionals failed at first. If you find yourself feeling down about how far away your dreams seem, remember that other people are likely comparing themselves with you and wishing they were in your shoes.

Remember: Comparison is one of life’s biggest thieves. It can rob us of our joy and keep us from taking action toward our goals. Just because someone else has a different job or family structure than yours doesn’t mean he or she is better off or happier than you are.

10) Have Hope

The main reason it’s so easy to give up is that we set unrealistic expectations for ourselves. If you don’t set goals as difficult as getting into a top university, starting your own business, or becoming president of your country, you won’t be able to achieve them! Instead, concentrate on achieving small goals and remember that no one manages to achieve their ideal life overnight.

What’s most important is that at some point along your journey, you believe in yourself enough to keep moving forward. What’s meant for you will find its way back around. Just keep swimming and have hope.
