Kanye West wore a shirt featuring an image of Pope John Paul II. During Paris Fashion Week, West dressed several Black models in clothing with the phrase "White Lives Matter" on the back.  Image- People.com

Images and videos of West's show were widely criticized after they emerged. On Instagram Stories,  Karefa-Johnson, editor-in-chief of Garage magazine and contributing editor of Vogue, condemned West's use of the phrase. Image - Vogue.com
